Matthew J. Thompson
Mr. Thompson was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 2015 after graduating summa cum laude from Capital University Law School. During law school, he served as an Executive Editor on The Capital University Law Review and interned for the Franklin County Prosecutor’s office. After law school, Mr. Thompson worked for the Ohio Criminal Justice Recodification Committee where he extensively researched and helped recommend revisions to Ohio’s criminal code in collaboration with state lawmakers, judges, corrections officials, law enforcement, community treatment providers, and defense attorneys and prosecutors throughout Ohio. Mr. Thompson is also a published legal author and has written about the ramifications of using a defendant’s silence as evidence of guilt in certain circumstances. He joined Burkett & Sanderson, Inc. in July 2017.
